We travel a lot in our family. Last year, we traveled 200+ days of the year. This means most of our meals are at the destinations we are visiting. When we get home, it can be a challenge to get “back into the cooking swing.”

Sometimes days or even weeks after our trip, we are dreaming about a food we ate during our vacation. It could be ramen from Japan, shaved ice from Hawaii, or the Gray Stuff from Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom.

I started looking for recipes that would bring our travels home. I like simple, so these recipes had to be super easy and remind us of our favorite destinations.

One of our absolute fav destinations is the Walt Disney World Resort. We have been to Disney World over 1,000 times, so a lot of our food memories are tied to this destination. I wanted to share some of our favorite copycatrecipes, inspired by Disney World.

The Kitchen Sink at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort

Have you ever tried The Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort? This is not just ice cream, it is an experience!

When you order the Kitchen Sink, your server will announce it as they bring it out to you. Lights and sirens go off! It really is a whole experience, besides just the ice cream. Your server will plop a whole sink of ice cream on your table. Let me say, soooo much ice cream and deliciousness! Over 25 different ice creams and toppings.

I found this super cute recipe that reminds me of the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream. This recipe is a lot easier than the real Kitchen Sink and a lot fewer calories!

Mickey Mouse Shaped Pretzel

Are you a fan of the Mickey Mouse shaped pretzels? These started over at Disneyland and were super popular. They migrated over to Disney World and have never left. They are one of the best Mickey Mouse shaped items on property and a bit healthier than other snacks. You can even add the super un-healthy, but yummy nacho sauce to dip it in.

When I found this recipe from Mommy Mouse Clubhouse, I was so excited. It is a simple recipe to make Mickey Mouse shaped pretzels from home. I even tried it with our gluten-free bread. They were just as yummy!

Mickey Mouse Shaped Cinnamon Rolls

When I visit Magic Kingdom in the morning, one of our 1st stops is always Main Street Bakery. The kids know that mommy needs her coffee and sweet roll! LOL!

They do not have just any sweet roll at Main Street Bakery, they have the Mickey Mouse shaped rolls. Sweet right?

As I was searching for recipes from Disney World to make at home, I can across the Mickey Mouse shaped cinnamon rolls from A New Dawnn. Not only does she have a super super simple recipe, but she uses my favorite…Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls.

Dole Whip

AHHHHH! The refreshing taste of cold pineapple awesomeness on a hot Florida day…the Dole Whip. This is one of The Jones Family’s favorite treats at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Magic Kingdom. You can even find this sweet treat at Disney’s Aulani Resort and on the Disney Cruise Line ships.

It even made ourTop Snacks at Disney World list! We love the Dole Whip and Dole Whip Float (with the addition of pineapple juice).

If you are new to the Dole Whip, this is a popular ice cream treat in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. There is also a Dole Whip spot by the pool at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

We recently purchased a Dole Whip ice cream maker. You basically freeze pineapple fruit. You then feed the frozen fruit through the ice cream maker and it makes ice cream. It is quite delish, but not quite like the Dole Whip you will find at Disney World. It is much healthier!

In my hunt to find the yummy Dole Whip like you would find at Disney World, I came across Around My Family Table. They have a delicious version of the Dole Whip. I love it!

Forky Inspired by Toy Story Land

One of my favorite new areas of Disney World is Pixar inspired Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You shrink down to the size of a toy and explore Andy’s backyard. It is so much fun from the food at Woody’s Lunch Box to Slinky Dog Dash. Our whole family loves this ride!

When I came across this super simple idea from Raising Whasians, I had to add it to my list. This is seriously so cute and so easy! You can make your string cheese turn into Forky from Toy Story 4.

I know this is not a recipe, but it is fun inspired by Disney World so it made my list. Our kids are older, but still had so much fun making Forky with our string cheese.

This stage show in front of Cinderella Castle features the Sanderson Sisters and a few other Disney Villains. It is a fun show for the whole family.

Official Disney Recipes

Over the quarantine, Disney Parks released some official recipes. We were so excited to try out the official recipes from our favorite treats. Some of these treats included Beignets, Churros, Tonga Toast, Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box, Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake from 50’s Prime Time Café, and more

I love all of these recipes that remind our family of our Disney World adventures. Cooking/baking these recipes with the kids help us laugh and remember our travels and create new ones.
